Whew, you talking good, Pastor!!! The student-as-customer also shifted the idea of learning for the value of learning to a kpi and quarterly goal, if you catch my drift.

Absolutely cooked. And they really did it in with that (implicit or explicit) ‘student-as-customer’ orientation in higher ed. So many layers and a long trajectory to the current version of shenanigans.

It is wild how much teaching/learning has changed in just the last 10 years. Teachers thought the ‘it’s in the syllabus’ shirts/reminders were cute when they might have been alternatively understood as ‘check engine’ lights cutting on.
