Xavier Robles de Medina presenteert 𝑃𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙, dat zich richt op het jaar waarin zijn opa werkte aan het 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥, de grondlegger van de Surinaamse onafhankelijkheid. Het boek is een replica van een familiealbum, waarin de totstandkoming van het werk is gedocumenteerd.

(2/4) Aan de hand van foto’s en verhalen onderzocht Sara Blokland in samenwerking met Jaya Pelupessy de geschiedenis van de 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐞 𝐯𝐥𝐚𝐠 en diens betekenissen. Het vertelt het verhaal van de vlag als metafoor, symbool, onderwerp van politieke discussie en als protestmiddel.
