Badgers, whisky, gardens, cheese, cats. Important stuff like that.
Did they have 15 mins of guitar squall back then?

I'm sorry to read that. Memories that painful make us question many things about our lives.
But yes, an incredible record.

How people can even do that is quite beyond me. I'm six ft and spent the whole gig with my back against a side wall just to make sure that I wasn't blocking anyone else's view.

Ah, I did think I'd seen you mention the sub-optimal sound. They still look gorgeous though.

Mrs Rox is definitely not a tall woman, but we'd got there in plenty of time, stood through 40 mins of the support act & another 20 of the gap between the bands, & at that point she had a decent enough view. Then some fat fuck waltzed in, saw a gap, & just stood right in front of her 😡

Woohoo. Soon you'll be able to have music in both ears.

It was particularly annoying that the first song he did it for was Night Mail - just so out of place, and I more or less couldn't actually hear the recorded poem bit.

Oh no ☹️

Already seen your other replies though, so hopefully she'll be fine again soon enough and you can both get home.

It was a definite high point. The whole gig was a lot more bouncy than the records.
November 15, 2025 at 10:26 PM
Yep, generally fun, but whether it was the mix or the volume or where we were standing, there was about 15 mins which were virtually unlistenable. Much more of that and we'd have knocked the rest of it on the head.

Also, please protect me from the self-entitlement of tall blokes who feel that it's their right to push nearer to the front and dtand in front of everyone else just before the start.

Very drinkable...

Just see this Julia, hope you and yours are all ok.

It was lovely here first thing, but gradually got worse from about 2.00pm onwards. Steady rain ever since, but not too heavy (hopefully 🤞, as we're off out again soon).

Good to know though, I feared for the health of modern students otherwise.

Warmest congratulations, Anne!

Glad to have been of service to saving your marriage, Roy.

It's a cross many of us have to bear 🤷‍♂️

Lovely stuff. Level 5 Notoriety accomplished.

I doubt they even have the kebab van on St Giles by the Lamb and Flag anymore either.
