Oh I sure appreciate that, but it's sooooo too late for that, now, (even if I I wanted to restrict the spread somehow). Birds' gonna fly! I say whatever it takes for them to multiply and flood the entire internet. FLOCK THE EMPIRE!

I use Google to find images of birds; ChatGPT for workflow, spreadheets, sort out bird markings; most work done in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator - both of which carry some degree of AI in their DNA, so no, not purely 100% AI-free, but I put about 3-4 hours of my own hands/eyes into each bird so

I'd say they are 7-10% AI. I use ChatGPT pretty liberally for research and organization, and use Adobe products, mostly Photoshop and Illustrator, which are inherently infected with some degree of AI at this point, but I'm putting in about 3-4 of my own hours per bird, so there it is

Also, I use ChatGPT for "research," spreadsheet, workflow & to suggest bird elements to make them distinct, so yeah. Not 100% AI free, but there it is. I try to hold a line, but I'm not a purist by any means. I think putting 3-4 hrs in to each bird is balanced enough for me. But that's just me.

Each bird takes me about 3-4 hours to adapt, each one is kinda built up from the one before, so they share a lot of the same defects from when I vectorized the original MN Loon...

I wish it were an "all or nothing" thing, but as a pro designer I use a lot of tools that have AI, like, baked in, now & if we're drilling for it just Googling bird images is using AI, so... Anyway, I use ChatGPT for "research" and organizing my workflow, but mainly work in PS and Illustrator...

MN Loon was the first, the inspiration for all (including mine) that followed its example

Can’t argue with that. Jackalope for Wyoming… Mothman for West Virginia, Peskie the River Monster for NH…

Heads up! Purple Finch, Special Edition! My process has evolved considerably since that first Finch, so I've pulled a Lucas on it. Here's V2
