I have a 1989 electric machine l love but even it has its tantrum days - when that happens l turn to my straight stitch only treadle machine which hasn’t let me down yet. I also love hand sewing but don’t have the patience you do. 😊

Definitely look into getting it repaired if you can. The new machine have all the bells and whistles but l don’t think they will last as long as the older ones.

Way to go! For me learning how to sew straight felt like such a super power! Haven’t tried a french seam yet but it’s on the list!
