I think he's supportive of them staying in the team because almost by definition they aren't a threat, and I suspect there's a clause somewhere that limits their performance. We see nasty Max when his teammates start to win.

Exactly. Max is good, but he's not got himself to the front alone, despite all the hype.

It's the FIA's fault for demanding the impossible of Pirelli. The Lusail circuit is an outlier for tyres but Pirelli can only make 5 (or 6) compounds for the year.

I sometimes feel silly getting invested in race/quali results. In my case I tell myself to not feel bad for them because they're so enormously rich racing drivers. The Danny Ric addage: my bad days are so much better than many people's best days.

I'm sure the FIA would have an incredibly stupid way of determining which events were quali races and which weren't. Presumably also with a fee payable by the circuit/host country.

His using his car as a weapon won't define his season because everyone lets him get away with it. He can drive like a menace, openly threaten other drivers, and F1TV/Sky are like "lol."
