Thank you again for every message, prayer, meal, and check-in. We feel your love every single day, and it’s helping us get through one of the hardest chapters of our lives. We’ll keep sharing updates as he continues to heal. 💙

We’re also really grateful that my mom and godmother are flying in on Monday to help us through appointments and the next phase of recovery. Just knowing we’ll have extra support brings so much relief. 🧵

The best moment was bringing Eevie home on Thursday. She hasn’t left his side and has already adjusted to our new routines. Her little dog heart has been doing some serious healing work for both of us. 🧵

We found special pillows to help him sleep more upright, and they’ve made a real difference for his comfort at night. The surgeon’s office has been amazing all week, answering every question and guiding us step by step. 🧵

Mitchell is walking around the house with care and even managing the stairs slowly but safely. His pain is still intense, but he’s pushing through and doing everything the care team has asked. His surgical wounds look like they’re healing on schedule. 🧵

Pain is still challenging, but he is in better spirits now that he can breathe more normally. Seeing even small improvements after such a rough start means everything. Thank you for every message and prayer. We feel all of it and we are so grateful.

He’s also been able to sit up in a chair and take a few assisted steps. His team is talking about moving him into a step-down room soon, which feels unreal considering he just had open-heart surgery. He is fighting hard and staying so strong.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out, prayed, sent love, or held us in your thoughts. This is the hardest chapter of our lives, and your kindness is helping carry us through. I’ll keep sharing updates as I learn more. Thank you for being with us. 💙

The team here has been incredible. Every doctor and nurse has taken time to explain things and treat Mitchell with so much compassion. We’re scared, but he’s strong, and he’s getting the best care possible. I’m clinging to that with everything in me.

His surgery is happening right now. They said it may go until around 9 pm our time. After that, the surgeon will talk with me, and if all goes well, I’ll be able to see him in the cardiac ICU around 10. I’m hanging on, breathing, and holding onto every bit of hope.

Because of the seriousness, they transferred him right away to UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies so a full cardiac team could step in. After more testing, they told us he needs open-heart bypass surgery. It was a moment that stopped everything around us.

The heart cath showed multiple severe blockages. Three arteries were 90 percent blocked and one was completely blocked. They also saw reduced heart function. Hearing all of that was overwhelming. His heart has been working so hard just to keep going, and none of us knew.

It was my first time in Europe! I adored Barcelona and loved exploring the Gothic Quarter and La Rambla.

We stayed in the Gothic Quarter and I immediately fell in love. I can’t wait to go back and explore even more.

I’m sorry, bud. I know how hard it is to relax when your head is spinning. I hope you can do some boxed breathing and doing something that brings you joy.
