I love this quote, "…Craft beer is at its best when it collapses differences between people."

I argued against Pleasanton PD expanding their contract for Flock #ALPR cameras. 4th Amendment violation. "Thank you for your comment." (Passed unanimously)

The Mayor of our city just bought an e-cargo bike (I know, right!?!?). And now he looks at our city's bike racks like, "hmm, I can park here."

For most people, the results are "negative". Is he saying his were "very positive"?

I found that my city staff lied on a county form to get bike/ped money. "Yes" this project is in the Master Plan when it clearly wasn't. City manager didn't care. Administrator at the county level asked the same city staffer if it was a good project. Clearly collusion. Felony misuse of public funds.

IIRC, Hayward has one. They could work out a deal. Livermore offered theirs to Pleasanton. Either way, TDA Article 3 funds can be used for a mini street sweeper.

Another is Level of Traffic Stress (LTS). That 1 - 4 rating should be replaced by something more meaningful and with more differentiation.
Related: Level of Service (LOS) seems inversely related to LTS.

One of my complaints is when bollard-protected bike lanes end 100 yards before an intersection with multiple turn lanes. It's not protected unless it protects you all the way.

I ask my city traffic engrs to quantify the existing situation, estimate what it'll be after the change, then measure it to see if it worked. <blank stares> That's what good engineers do; that's how things improve. Keep quantifying things, Robert!

Thank you for this! I have these "bike lane" projects here. Protection exists for some of the street, but disappears approaching the intersection. It serves as traffic calming in the high-speed sections and is unnecessary near intersections. Makes sense!

I tried to argue a TDA Article 3 application issue with MTC. The City of Pleasanton's application included false statements ("project is in the Master Plan" but it wasn't). MTC sided with traffic engr's bs instead of their own rules. Seems like collusion.
