Creative burnout is real and serious, but I can say now that it DOES get better. I've been doing new types of crafts that I wouldn't have had the time to fall in love with had I not stepped away and it's been so good for me. I'm so happy to look forward to craft time again.

The more I think abojt this the more it feels exactly like nerd culture and girls 😅 "why don't young people sew anymore!? *Gets mad at young people for sewing*"

Omg, I used to wonder how people like that could exist and then I started having to teach sewing classes to exactly that type of person 😭😭😭 thinks they know better than me because they're older, cannot follow a basic instruction to save their life

From my observation based on my coworkers ages/apparent ages (we all have baby faces 🤣) people start to get less hostile around 35-40. I reckon it's because that's the point where fewer people can say "my sewing machine is older than you!"

Fr!!!!! And it definitely goes the other way too, where I have to pull up my website and point at the sample projects I've made for the shop before customers will actually listen to my suggestions 😭 nobody should have to prove anything just to have a positive experience at a store.

I think it's that like... "people I cant relate to are taking over!" kind of feeling that poisons every hobby, tbh 😭

She sews like a dream but after almost 15 years it's weird to adjust to a new machine... my muscle memory is all screwed up lol
