The similarity is a shooter game that was in the spotlight for over a decade with a ton of hope and skepsis, I just imagine that that really shook a lot of people around that time. Could be any other reason too, but I imagine Valve isn't wasting any time on HL3

Gaben said years ago that HL3 will probably never happen. The moment has passed, and I'm sure as a publisher he saw what happened with Duke Nukem Forever and didn't want to go down that road.

Especially the second game. Its combat essentially becomes a puzzle room scenario, where you have to solve every encounter as efficient as possible. Very good gameplay.

FFXIV kinda is a solo game until you get through the main scenario, which can take years depending on how fast you play. You can do the dungeons together, which is fun, but 90% of the campaign is solo content, so you constantly have to group up and disband again. Story games are more fun solo imo.

I had a 99% positive experience in FFXIV and Trackmania, met less than 5 toxic people in those games combined with about 5000 hours between them.
