The cultural impact of TFA is that it set up some expectations for TLJ which were dashed by Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy being bad at their jobs leaving Abrams to make a finale out of whatever scraps were left. It set up a legacy of incompetence that Bob Iger is fully embracing.

If we had a POTUS who cared more about the country than appearances, they'd use the unlimited authority for official acts granted by SCOTUS to remove the GOP activists among them and unilaterally appoint six new, progressive Justices who slow walk the appeals process before overturning the authority

I remember watching the original Red Dawn and playing the original Modern Warfare trilogy and being terrified of a Russian invasion of the United States. These past few years have turned them into comedies.

Discounting the whole political and societal reformation thing McGillis is doing, you're right. I can't really say what my biggest issues are yet because spoilers though. IMO S1 was the overall better experience with the brightest spot of S2 being the Hashmal arc.

For me, I disliked the tonal shift of Tekkadan and the very haphazard finale. It felt like they had only planned on one season but it got extended into two so they had to wing it which led to an unsatisfying experience for S2.

This is why everyone wants a Calamity War show/OVA. It's arguably more interesting than the main IBO story because of how little we know and what we do know is crazy.
