I hadn't run across 1919 before either -- makes sense as numeric coding for SS, but it's also the year of founding of the DAP, predecessor of the NSDAP, so I'd think it carries multiple Nazi connotations. Would still want to see the rest of that tattoo to understand what it actually represents.

Government has its own AWS regions independent of commercial, so nothing that happened in us-east-1 should have affected those. (Emphasis on "should".)

Police generally aren't Federal employees. For Feds, you're either exempt (keep working and getting paid), excepted (keep working but don't get paid for time worked until the shutdown is over), or furloughed (don't work, get paid when it's over). But they know they'll get paid eventually.

Am guessing this was taken with the Planar 80mm f/2.8 lens? Field of view seems too wide for the Sonnar 250mm f/5.6, especially if it's cropped (and comparing with the Apollo 8 Earthrise, which was taken with the Sonnar).

Unfortunately, every one of them who gets infected with a disease that could have been prevented by vaccination represents another chance for the disease to mutate and become resistant to the vaccines that the rest of us got. That's exactly why their "personal choice" hurts everyone around them.
