I'm actually listening to his first couple of novels--the Zöe Boehm series--where he perfected his unreliable/deluded narrator skills on straight bad guys without Roddy's essential and hysterical harmlessness.

That's a bit of a deep dive. "Surer to find [their] way home", yes? I still want the edition of Lord of the Rings that comes in the big red book ... but meanwhile, I will buy the new editions that match, to read to my mutts.
