Data and Lal went to their forever home together today and I am deep in my feels. Love those babies so much.

So many cute babies in my house right now while @crits4cats.bsky.social deals with two very sick panleuk kittens.
5 kittens in a full variety of colors. 4 are eating while the 5th (the orange of course!) rolls around with a toy. Two orange and white kittens and one black and white kitten enjoy some wet food breakfast. Chlora, a dilute calico kitten, sits in a full loaf position and looks at the camera.

Let this be your sign to buy a cheap leash and just keep it in your car. This sweet girl ran up the on ramp onto a major highway. She wasn’t letting anyone get near her but thanks to a bunch of kind people who stopped, we were able to corral her and get my leash looped around her neck (no collar.)

She is still a very very shy girl and will need a cat savvy person who will go slow and understands that she may never be a lap cat and will probably keep to herself a lot of the time. She is ok coexisting with other calm cats. Could you be her new person? www.petfinder.com/member/us/md...

It has taken a lot of time and patience (and maaany treaties) but Shoyu has slowly come out of her shell. She is ready to find a forever home. I know I’ll get comments saying I should keep her- I do love her SO much, but if I kept every timid cat I fostered I wouldn’t be able to foster anymore. 🧵

It took about 2 months for her to start inching out of her corner while I was in the room. Just long enough to snag whatever treat I was offering, and then back to her safe spot. 🧵

It was slow going. She would allow some pets, but it was because she was too terrified to move. I put out lots of soft bedding and toys in her area (my spare bathroom) but she spent most of her time hiding behind the toilet. Luckily she was (is) very food motivated. Churu and greenies for the win. 🧵

This sweet girl is Shoyu. Shoyu came to us a full YEAR ago, found outside with her two kittens. She’d clearly never been around people before and was completely terrified, but not aggressive. The area she was found in was unsafe to return to for TNR so we decided to give socialization a try. 🧵

Just got Charlos set up at the local Petsmart to get more eyes on him and find him his forever home. Guys, he is So Good. Cuddly, chill personality, full of purrs, so handsome, good with kids and other cats (and likely dogs too!) Someone give this boy the home he deserves!! (based in Elkton, MD)

How it started vs How it’s going.
Spot, an orange tabby cat, nurses two teeny newborn kittens- Data who is orange and white, and Lal who is calico. Spot, Data, and Lal cuddling today on a blanket. The kittens are now 8 weeks old, fluffy and chonky.

These two are still not eating great on their own and are getting regular tube feeds, but their energy is definitely back!!

Whelp, Lal has officially boarded the calicivirus train with a goopy eye. Good news is she’s still gaining weight, so for now we’ll get some drops for her eye and continue to monitor closely.
