I once had a magical experience as an audience member in a Shakespeare play: it was As You Like It in the Royal Exchange in Manchester in the early 2000s (2004-ish? My dad was well at the time and could go). The Royal Exchange is theatre completely in the round, in a module inside a C18th hall
