I was one of more than 200 Floridians who drove 3.5 hours into the Everglades yesterday to hold vigil for the people being brutalized there. Leaders from the Miccosukee tribal asked people to join them in their daily witness against the atrocity that destroys lives as it destroys their home.

ICE is insisting on doing these raids against unarmed people. Throwing mothers ziptied into vans AFTER stories of rural communities speaking out against the rounding up of the mother who worked at the Waffle diner. They want this. They want this to have the emotional effect that it does. Why?
