One said he was there to give the manager a shave and haircut, another claimed he went to see about a job, and the others explained that they were concerned with an order for ice. Charges of having been unlawfully on the premises of the Family Hotel, Gleneig, during prohibited hours on August 18 against George Herbert Rule, brickmaker; William Anthoney Finnington, laborer; Frank Ernest Gar diner, stablehand; and Stanley Brown, hairdresser, all of Gleneig, were dismissed. Mr. Eric Millhouse appeared for Browm and Rule. The Assistant Police Prosecutor (Mr. Bond) prosecuted.

Big fan of this guy, at least from the medical report in his deportation file. (he was deported from australia back to britain in 1931)
He has never done any real “job of work” either in England or in the various States of Australia. He has tried clerking, soldiering and farming, all to no purpose. His mother died in an asylum in England. He is subject to delusions and is very unstable. He says people are watching him and making ambiguous signs about his. He has a vague idea that he might be Christ and that his mission is to save the oppressed and the unemployed. When there is a storm he interprets it as a message from God. He has certain homosexual tendancies. His general conduct is fairly good. He is never violent or dangerous and he can converse for a long time without disclosing any of these delusions, etc. At the same time they (his delusions) prevent him from doing any work – they make him an undesirable citizen, one likely to mix with “down and outs” and foster discontent and communistic ideas (such as he has) and render him likely to be a more or less permanent charge on the State."
