we know this stuff shrinks your brain now so there's no justification for it as a learning tool except as a cautionary tale

'i had no instruments growing up' is an argument to make sure kids aren't poor & have access to instruments not for anything else

also software isn't free anyway? & even if it's free or cheap to start with that's just to gain enough market dominance that you can throw your weight around down the line. i can see it being mandatory for schools to have all this stuff if we don't stop these people

but anyway you're right & even if some of this software is cheap now soon they'll be charging schools for it saying there isn't another way to make music etc when creativity is actually what it takes to make music and whilst thats free we shouldnt leave kids feeling inspired & empowered to chance

some kids do find ways but i think the most elusive thing that poor kids lack can be confidence. firstly kids shouldn't be poor anyway secondly they need good teachers to inspire them & i think if a kid wants a saxophone they should be able to get it but without confidence a kid won't even dare ask
