Yes, Liverpool is a star-studded team, and PSV have limited means. But the CL needs average European clubs like PSV, Bodo/Glimt or Sporting Lisbon to keep the competition interesting. Liverpool failed to score a few goals in the 1st half, and PSV fought for that victory in the 2nd half. Football.

The red card would have been justified.

Just awful. Condolences to the family.

If Trump finds that the shooting of 2 National Guardsmen in DC is a national security breach that requires military escalation, he should break off his holiday at Mar-a-Lago, and lead from the White House.

I wonder what match you were watching

Exxonmobil is just terrible. Unlike other energy giants, they are all in on fossil fuels. About ten years ago they offered decent money to any climate scientist who would want to contradict evidence of global warming.

I have been reasonably happy with the Philadelphia Inquirer (my substitute for WaPo) over the last year, even though I don't have a connection with Philly. They aren't shilling for the oligarchy.

I read the Post until a year ago because I liked the writers. Bezos muzzled the writers, and then they left. My wife liked doing their crossword puzzles, but there are other places where you can find them.

It's like we're watching Band of Brothers with a twist. Hegseth is a drunk Sobel.

I feel sorry for Senator Kelly that he needs to publicly defend himself against the Trumpists, but they couldn't have chosen a tougher opponent.

Your take is "Europe divided", and not "Trump works for the Kremlin"? There are disagreements among European NATO members on the level of support that Ukraine should receive, but that is a minor problem compared to Trump's capitulation to Putin, which is once more dividing the United States.

The 4th Taiwan scenario is now unfolding in Ukraine. Trump treats Ukraine and Taiwan as modern colonies, but in the long-term he would trade them to Russia and China. One day the US will lead the free world again, but we are making a huge mess of the democratic world order this year.

When BlueSky took off, the threat of bot farms was already present. Maybe I am naive, but I think the users are doing a reasonable job filtering out the canned message(r)s.

John Eastman, Pete Navarro, Oz, who else?

Would the turtles have dug themselves out if the humans hadn't unboxed them on April 8? It seems that the hole is very deep.

Mrs Flaco and I are driving, not flying, to NYC to see her relatives this Xmas. It is a long drive, but we just don't want to deal with the crowd in airports this time. I look forward to seeing the flyover states up close again. Duffy is a clown with no qualifications to lead NASA or DOT.

Why doesn't Secretary Duffy wear a tie when he addresses the public? If he wants to get in the Christmas mood, he can put some antlers on his head.

If Cassidy had signalled that he wouldn't confirm Bobby Brainworms, there might have been another Republican Senator bold enough to defy Trump on this absurd nomination.

We know vaccines are safe. But people under 65 can't get the Covid vaccine, because Cassidy thought it was politically convenient to confirm RFK Jr as health secretary.
