I hate "culture war" for a reason I've seen most clearly articulated by Adam Johnson. It trivializes the issue, and pits it as a debate rather than what it is: an attack on people simply trying to live life as themselves. Conservatives should be steamrolled in these "wars" not ignored, imo

I think the most frustrating part about all of this isn’t losing the numbers, I can always hit 48k again. It’s leaving behind a ton of memories all because of some man baby running what used to be my favorite platform into the ground

Stories like these seem quaint at this point since this will not matter at all. It might elicit a slight grimace of concern from Susan Collins, but there are few Republicans left who care about people pal-ing around w/ genocidal white Christian nationalists. Trump ate dinner w/ Nick Fuentes, FFS.

not saying anything groundbreaking here, but I really think "politics as a form of content to be served up and consumed like all other forms of content" has been an enormous, underrated disaster in terms of giving folks the illusion of being informed while essentially being gamed like a drug addict
