Do you have any idea how emotionally difficult it is to carry a fetus that you know will not result in a healthy baby? When your body is still sending your brain all of the physical indications of pregnancy? It’s a form of torture I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Even in a world where everyone’s needs are met, abortion care is always going to be needed.

There are maternal illnesses (like cancer) that can’t be treated while pregnant. There are fetal issues identified prenatal that will result in deaths shortly after birth, etc.

My miscarriage required a D&C. Pregnancy was physically miserable, no one is doing it for fun for months and changing their mind on a whim.

Which is why we need to take every kidnapping and every illegal deportation seriously and resist. It’s all us.

I find those things abominable and am utterly opposed to them. Did you not see the massive pro-Palestine protests that happened yesterday or do you think everyone in the streets is a liberal?

Looking down on a mass movement rather than finding opportunities to strengthen and direct that energy is some too-online shit. We gotta play the cards we’re dealt.

I know the poem and I am a socialist.

It is my job to meet people where they are at and help them reach a more developed view of politics. There are some people who are going to be unreachable, but most people do not have an ideologically consistent framework for understanding the world.

Having people in the streets is good.

They have already shown they are willing to put in effort to causes they believe in. If you think people are unfocused in their demands, it is your opportunity to talk to them and sharpen their critique.
