It features father & son actors Alexander Skarsgård & Stellan Skarsgård discussing their films, their acting work, their family and so much more. Stellan Skarsgård is a beloved Swedish actor who has 8 kids in total - one of them is Alexander Skarsgård, along with his brothers Bill Skarsgård & Gustaf Skarsgård who are also actors. What I adore about this conversation is that it's playful and honest and open - but also still fun and amusing and obviously jokey. When you put two actors in a room together, they're going to riff, and some of this is not to be taken seriously. That said, I appreciate how deep they get chatting about acting. Variety has been making these "Actors on Actors" videos for years and years they're always good to watch, but this one gets a special mention. "It waits to be remembered..." An acclaimed animated short film is now available online to watch - with an extensive backstory published on Indiewire. After playing across many film festivals the last year, American filmmaker / model / actress / artist Lauren Tsai's short film The Dying World is now available to watch on YT. It's only 5 mins and is made with puppets / stop-motion and some 3D animation. Astrid and her only friend Crow sit waiting in a world of all that is forgotten. There's more to the story and how it connects with her own experiences & memories. A better intro: "Astrid lives torn between two worlds: a boundless, sterile office and a desolate blue realm composed of trash she struggles to recollect. When she finds a door to her childhood bedroom, she feeds what’s left of it to her only friend, Crow, who wonders how much longer she can live in these fragmented realities." The visuals in it are distinct & captivating - it's one of the rare times I wish a short film was longer because I want to see more of this world. Quiver Distribution has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror flick called The Confession, another film about going back to your hometown and discovering the evil secrets within. This one will be out to watch on VOD starting in January if anyone wants to watch. From writer / director Will Canon, The Confession is a horror-thriller and a twist on the story of the Pied Piper set in rural Texas. When a struggling musician moves back into her childhood home, she discovers a recording of her deceased father confessing to a grisly murder he claims to have committed to protect himself from a strange, unknown evil force. As her young son exhibits increasingly unsettling behavior, she becomes more and more desperate in her attempts to stop the evil. "The Galaxy needs racing!" Check out this first look trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer arriving to play in 2026. Sometimes we break our own rules and post a trailer for a video game - this one also comes from The Game Awards. When I was growing up, I was a huge fan of the N64 game Star Wars Episode I: Racer, featuring pod racing from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (both released the same year in 1999). So I will admit that I am kinda excited to see that 27 years later they're bringing back racing to the Star Wars universe with this brand new game arriving next year. Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy. The campaign is set in the New Republic Era and takes place on the desert planet Jakku as seen in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is formed: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. Mubi has revealed one more final trailer for the film The Mastermind, a funky little film by beloved indie filmmaker Kelly Reichardt. Now streaming on Mubi! Catch up with it if you missed it in theaters. It's her latest feature following Night Movies, Certain Women, First Cow, and Showing Up just before this. "A rebel without a cause." In a sedate corner of Massachusetts circa 1970, JB Mooney, an unemployed carpenter turned amateur art thief, plans his first big heist. When things go haywire, his life unravels. Josh O'Connor stars as Mooney, a simple man who decides to steal some paintings from his local art museum, but ends up having to go on the run in this calm, quiet, contemplative art heist drama. Finally opening in limited theaters next March. Neon has finally revealed their own official US trailer for the film Alpha, the third feature film directed by French filmmaker Julia Ducournau after making Raw and Titane. It premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival but ended up with mostly bad reviews – Neon pushed it back to March next year since it's not a major release anymore. Something seemingly innocuous sends a teenager's world into turmoil. Filmed in the Northern France city of Le Havre, Alpha is a troubled teenager who lives alone with her mother. Their world comes crashing down the day she comes home from school with a tattoo on her arm, leading her Maman to believe she has contracted a new disease going around. The film is based on Ducournau's upbringing during the AIDS/HIV crisis in the 1980s. Starring Mélissa Boros as the young Alpha, Tahar Rahim as Amin, Alpha's junkie uncle, Golshifteh Farahani as her mother, Emma Mackey, Finnegan Oldfield, Louai El Amrousy, and others. This has been adapted before and turned into other movies, this time it's a 3D animated adventure comedy from the English motion-capture master / filmmaker Andy Serkis. Film Forum has revealed the official trailer for an award-winning indie documentary film titled Holding Liat, which initially premiered at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year. This is one of the most unique, openly honest, thoughtful films about the October 7th incident in Palestine. After Israeli-American teacher Liat Atzili & her husband Aviv are kidnapped from their kibbutz in Israel by Hamas forces, filmmaker Brandon Kramer, a relative, follows the experiences of Liat's family. They face their own conflicting perspectives to fight for her release and the future of the places they call home. Balancing compassion for the family with varying opinions about the objectives of the current leadership in Israel and also in the USA, Holding Liat is "powerful and complex... a valuable work, not least for showing us that Israel and Netanyahu are not synonymous." Supergirl is being directed by Craig Gillespie (of I, Tonya and Cruella) and will be ready for release in theaters in June 2026 next summer (while we wait for Man of Tomorrow arriving in 2027). "He's not involved, is he?" "I don't think you grasp the situation..." Apple TV has debuted the main trailer for Season 2 of the thriller series Hijack - set on the metro in Berlin. The first Hijack series launched on Apple TV+ in June 2023 - the "real time" series followed a 7-hour flight on its way to London that was being hijacked, involving Idris Elda as one of the passengers. In the thrilling second season of Hijack, a Berlin underground train and its commuters are taken hostage, while the authorities scramble to save lives. Sam Nelson (Elba) is at the heart of the crisis on board, where one wrong decision could spell disaster. Can they really keep this "real-time" gimmick going on a train with a bomb? This trailer shows that much more is going on around the city than just one bomb in one subway train. And it gets everything about this metro in Berlin wrong (I ride it every day) - including the trains themselves. But hey, it's a TV series! "Is anybody looking out for her?" A24 has revealed the full official trailer for the film The Moment, a meta mockumentary pop star film made by the artist known as Charli XCX. It was just announced yesterday as a world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in January, then it will be released immediately after in theaters starting January 30th. Based on her own idea, the film is about a rising pop star who navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her next arena tour. Made by a music video director as his first feature film - which is why it has the same style as a music video but extended into a chaotic movie about the music industry. Starring Charli xcx, Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Kylie Jenner, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell, plus Rachel Sennott & Alexander Skarsgård. Quite an impressive cast but unless you're a big Charli XCX fan, this doesn't look like it will be worth watching at all. Angel Studios has released an official trailer for a new Kevin James comedy movie titled Solo Mio, which is just Italian for Only Mine or Mine Alone. It's scheduled to open in theaters everywhere starting February 2026 early next year, playing as more of a mainstream release from Angel. "This is a film that people need to see in theaters. The world just needs fun, heartfelt" movies now, they say. Right? After being left at the altar in Rome, a man decides to go on his honeymoon tour alone anyway, traveling around Italy and meeting a new woman who runs a cafe. A Kinnane Brothers movie - starring Kevin James as Matt, Jonathan Roumie, Kim Coates, and Alyson Hannigan, with Julee Cerda, and Nicole Grimaudo as Gia, the Italian woman he meets along the way. "Kevin James & Jonathan Roumie bring heart, humor, and originality to this uplifting tale of rediscovery." "It's gonna be loud!" Paramount Pictures has debuted the first official trailer for a concert doc movie called Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) - yes that is the actual full title. It's just another live concert doc, but it's also not just another live concert doc. Believe it or not, this is actually co-directed by the maestro himself James Cameron - and in 3D using Cameron's innvotive 3D cameras and tech. This isn't the first time they've made a full 3D concert movie (One Direction had one 13 years ago) but they're upping the ante with Cameron collaborating with Billie Eilish herself to make this. The concert doc was recorded during her 4 nights performing in Manchester during her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour earlier in 2025. In the trailer, Cameron describes it as "an innovative new concert experience" and that "no one has ever shot a concert film on this scale before... using tech no one has ever used before." Well that's one hell of a sell! But what if I don't like Billie Eilish or her music? Do I still have to watch this? "Make it clean..." 🎄 Warner Bros has revealed a fun new Christmas-themed trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another movie which is sweeping up many awards left & right and earning tons of acclaim. They're re-releasing OBAA in 70mm IMAX this weekend for another quick one-week-run. This trailer is hilarious because they play up the "Christmas Adventurers Club" aspect and turn it into a Christmas movie release. At this point, I would not be surprised if OBAA goes on to win Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor at the Oscars next year - it has the full momentum now and totally deserves it. This exciting new PTA action thriller movie is about a father trying to find his daughter on the run (rewatch the first official trailer). When their evil nemesis resurfaces after 16 years, a band of ex-revolutionaries reunite again to rescue the daughter of one of their own. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, plus Regina Hall, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, Benicio del Toro as "Sensei", Shayna McHayle, & Chase Infiniti as his daughter. It's Jordan's Oscar submission this year and will be playing in more theaters starting in January. This premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (where I saw it) and also played at the Karlovy Vary, Telluride, Zurich, Hamptons Film Festivals. In the Occupied West Bank of the 1980s, a Palestinian teenager is swept into a protest that changes the course of his family’s life. Reeling from its aftermath, his mother, Hanan, shares the story that led them to that fateful moment. Spanning seven decades, this epic drama traces the hopes & heartaches of one uprooted family, revealing not only the scars of displacement, but the unbreakable spirit of survival. Sakamoto is back again! Toho has revealed the first look teaser trailer for a new live-action movie based on the hit manga and hit anime series called Sakamoto Days, about a "plus-sized assassin" named Sakamoto Taro. The anime series actually just debuted on Netflix earlier in 2025 - it's streaming now there if anyone wants to watch it. This is pretty much a shot-for-shot remake. He was once the most powerful killer but he retired after falling in love with Aoi. He now runs a small neighborhood shop called "Sakamoto Store." He fights using whatever weapons are at hand, rather than relying on any specific ones. He loves his wife and daughter above all else... This is what happens when his past catches up with him. The live-action version stars Ren Meguro as Taro Sakamoto, Aya Ueto as Aoi Sakamoto, with Fumiya Takahashi and Miyu Yoshimoto. This teaser only has barely 30 seconds of footage in it – but it's still a fun first look. Interesting cinematic decision to keep his glasses opaque & silver even in this live-action version. "There is a secret life beneath us... we're all connected through the earth." Netflix has revealed their first look teaser trailer for the next season in their live-action take on this animated classic - Avatar: The Last Airbender. The first season kicked off in 2024, re-introducing Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko, but it wasn't the best take on this story and didn't end up with good reviews. But they went off and made the next season anyway! Because there's more to come - especially with fan-favorite character Toph finally showing up in Season 2 and joining them on their adventures. In this next new season of the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix, the Gaang has noticeably grown up since Season 1. After a bittersweet victory saving the Northern Water Tribe from the invading Fire Nation, Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawentiio), and Sokka (Ian Ousley) regroup and set off on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King to aid in their battle against fearsome Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). The full cast also features Miya Cech as Toph, Dallas Liu, Elizabeth Yu, Ty Lee, Maria Zhang, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee.
