First Trailer for Exciting New 'Star Wars: Galactic Racer' Video Game
First Trailer for Exciting New 'Star Wars: Galactic Racer' Video Game
"The Galaxy needs racing!" Check out this first look trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer arriving to play in 2026. Sometimes we break our own rules and post a trailer for a video game - this one also comes from The Game Awards. When I was growing up, I was a huge fan of the N64 game Star Wars Episode I: Racer, featuring pod racing from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (both released the same year in 1999). So I will admit that I am kinda excited to see that 27 years later they're bringing back racing to the Star Wars universe with this brand new game arriving next year. Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy. The campaign is set in the New Republic Era and takes place on the desert planet Jakku as seen in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is formed: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. This looks like it's going to be plenty of fun to play - maybe there will even be a podrace in it somewhere as hinted at with the final shot. // Continue Reading ›

Quick Final Trailer for 'The Mastermind' Film Starring Josh O'Connor
"James, we've been told you're mixed up in this robbery at the museum." Mubi has revealed one more final trailer for the film The Mastermind, a funky little film by beloved indie filmmaker Kelly Reichardt. Now streaming on Mubi! Catch up with it if you missed it in theaters. It's her latest feature following Night Movies, Certain Women, First Cow, and Showing Up just before this. "A rebel without a cause." In a sedate corner of Massachusetts circa 1970, JB Mooney, an unemployed carpenter turned amateur art thief, plans his first big heist. When things go haywire, his life unravels. Josh O'Connor stars as Mooney, a simple man who decides to steal some paintings from his local art museum, but ends up having to go on the run in this calm, quiet, contemplative art heist drama. Also with Alana Haim, Gabby Hoffman, John Magaro, Hope Davis, and Bill Camp. After originally premiering at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, this opened in theaters back in October this fall. Now it's available for streaming - just at the same time as Rian Johnson's Wake Up Dead Man hits Netflix, also with Josh O'Connor. Both movies are worth watching - Josh is superb. // Continue Reading ›

Golshifteh Farahani & Tahar Rahim in Ducournau's 'Alpha' New Trailer
Golshifteh Farahani & Tahar Rahim in Ducournau's 'Alpha' New Trailer
Finally opening in limited theaters next March. Neon has finally revealed their own official US trailer for the film Alpha, the third feature film directed by French filmmaker Julia Ducournau after making Raw and Titane. It premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival but ended up with mostly bad reviews – Neon pushed it back to March next year since it's not a major release anymore. Something seemingly innocuous sends a teenager's world into turmoil. Filmed in the Northern France city of Le Havre, Alpha is a troubled teenager who lives alone with her mother. Their world comes crashing down the day she comes home from school with a tattoo on her arm, leading her Maman to believe she has contracted a new disease going around. The film is based on Ducournau's upbringing during the AIDS/HIV crisis in the 1980s. Starring Mélissa Boros as the young Alpha, Tahar Rahim as Amin, Alpha's junkie uncle, Golshifteh Farahani as her mother, Emma Mackey, Finnegan Oldfield, Louai El Amrousy, and others. I saw this film in Cannes and yep it's really not good – even though I'm a fan of Ducournau, this one didn't turn out great. Oh well, it happens. // Continue Reading ›

Full Trailer for Andy Serkis-Directed 'Animal Farm' Animated Comedy
Full Trailer for Andy Serkis-Directed 'Animal Farm' Animated Comedy
"Animal Farm: Four legs good, two legs bad." Angel Studios has revealed the full official trailer for a new animated version of the classic story Animal Farm. This has been adapted before and turned into other movies, this time it's a 3D animated adventure comedy from the English motion-capture master / filmmaker Andy Serkis. He explains: "Orwell's Animal Farm has never felt more relevant. In an age where power, propaganda, & inequality shape our societies, it's vital that we remember his cautionary tale. This [movie] isn't just a story for entertainment — it's a reminder that democracy, freedom, and integrity are fragile, and must be watched over. My hope is that audiences walk away moved, thoughtful, and inspired to stand up for the values that matter." With the voices of Seth Rogen as Napoleon, Gaten Matarazzo as Lucky, Steve Buscemi as Mr. Whymper, Glenn Close as Freida Pilkington, Laverne Cox as Snowball, Kieran Culkin as Squealer, Woody Harrelson as Boxer, Jim Parsons as Carl the sheep, Andy Serkis as Mr. Jones & Randolph the Rooster, Kathleen Turner as Benjamin the donkey, and Iman Vellani as piglets Puff and Tammy. The sci-fi twist in this version is bonkers, but hey if wakes some folks up, then I guess sure why not. // Continue Reading ›

Award-Winning, Emotional Documentary 'Holding Liat' Official Trailer
Award-Winning, Emotional Documentary 'Holding Liat' Official Trailer
"There's no way of knowing how much longer this is going to go on." Film Forum has revealed the official trailer for an award-winning indie documentary film titled Holding Liat, which initially premiered at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year. This is one of the most unique, openly honest, thoughtful films about the October 7th incident in Palestine. After Israeli-American teacher Liat Atzili & her husband Aviv are kidnapped from their kibbutz in Israel by Hamas forces, filmmaker Brandon Kramer, a relative, follows the experiences of Liat's family. They face their own conflicting perspectives to fight for her release and the future of the places they call home. Balancing compassion for the family with varying opinions about the objectives of the current leadership in Israel and also in the USA, Holding Liat is "powerful and complex... a valuable work, not least for showing us that Israel and Netanyahu are not synonymous." It has picked up prizes and screened at many prestigious festivals playing throughout 2025 and will open in limited theaters starting in January soon. For anyone interested in real people and real perspectives, this is worth a watch. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for 'Breakdown: 1975' Doc - About 1970s Era Cinema
"Movies were made back then that didn't pander to trend." Netflix has revealed the first official trailer for a fascinating cinema documentary film called Breakdown 1975 – ready for release in just a few weeks from now. Not a long wait at all! Made by the Academy Award-winning director Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbor, Piece by Piece) who also has another doc next year called Man on the Run. Featuring narration by Jodie Foster. This is a look back at the radical 1970s era cinema and how everything changed with American films in the 70s after the revolutionary 60s. "'75 was the most important moment in the history of the film business." In 1975, as America faced great social and political upheaval, filmmakers turned chaos into art. This film explores how a turbulent era gave rise to iconic movies like Taxi Driver, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Network, Jaws, Nashville, etc. Featuring tons of name names: Albert Brooks, Ellen Burstyn, Josh Brolin, Kurt Andersen, Martin Scorsese, Naomi Fry, Oliver Stone, Patton Oswalt, Peter Bart, Peter Biskind, Rick Perlstein, Sam Wasson, Seth Rogen, Dr. Todd Boyd, & others. Music Box Doc 'Happy And You Know It' Trailer on Children's Music
"Believe in a little bit of magic." HBO has revealed an official trailer for another fascinating new Music Box documentary film titled Happy And You Know It, the latest mesmerizing cinematic creation from the wonderful doc filmmaker Penny Lane. Subverting the notion that making music for children is easy and proving that love, imagination, and emotional truth are the foundations of songs that resonate, Happy And You Know It reminds us of the magical way music connects us across generations and to the child inside us all. The doc dives into the surprisingly powerful world of children's music, uncovering origin stories of the artists who shaped the genre. It chronicles the unexpected paths musicians take to embrace the creative freedom found in writing music that shapes childhoods. Featuring conversations with talented musicians like Anthony Field of "The Wiggles", Chris Ballew, Divinity Roxx, Laurie Berkner, Johnny Only, and many others. I'm a big fan of Penny Lane's other Music Box doc Listening to Kenny G and this one looks just as good. I'm glad Penny tells this story in such a bright, beautiful, uplifting way - it is definitely worth a watch. // Continue Reading ›

First Teaser for Craig Gillespie's 'Supergirl' Movie Starring Milly Alcock
"This doesn't look like this is going to end well... for you guys!" Warner Bros & DC Studios have unveiled the teaser trailer for the Supergirl movie, the follow-up to James Gunn's Superman movie from this year. Supergirl is being directed by Craig Gillespie (of I, Tonya and Cruella) and will be ready for release in theaters in June 2026 next summer (while we wait for Man of Tomorrow arriving in 2027). Exact plot info is limited, but here's the intro: When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion.Kara Zor-El celebrates her 21st birthday by travelling across the galaxy with her dog Krypto. Along the way, she meets the young Ruthye Marye Knoll and encounters a tragedy that leads her out on a "murderous quest for revenge". Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El, with Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa as Lobo (oh hello!). This looks way more like a James Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy movie than the previous Superman - but it also looks like tons of intergalactic fun! Should be a good time. // Continue Reading ›

First Trailer for James Cameron-Directed Billie Eilish 3D Concert Doc
First Trailer for James Cameron-Directed Billie Eilish 3D Concert Doc
"It's gonna be loud!" Paramount Pictures has debuted the first official trailer for a concert doc movie called Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) - yes that is the actual full title. It's just another live concert doc, but it's also not just another live concert doc. Believe it or not, this is actually co-directed by the maestro himself James Cameron - and in 3D using Cameron's innvotive 3D cameras and tech. This isn't the first time they've made a full 3D concert movie (One Direction had one 13 years ago) but they're upping the ante with Cameron collaborating with Billie Eilish herself to make this. The concert doc was recorded during her 4 nights performing in Manchester during her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour earlier in 2025. In the trailer, Cameron describes it as "an innovative new concert experience" and that "no one has ever shot a concert film on this scale before... using tech no one has ever used before." Well that's one hell of a sell! But what if I don't like Billie Eilish or her music? Do I still have to watch this? Presented in immersive 3D, the film will be playing in theaters starting March 2026 in just a few months. Look any good? // Continue Reading ›

Funny Christmas Re-Release Trailer for PTA's 'One Battle After Another'
Funny Christmas Re-Release Trailer for PTA's 'One Battle After Another'
"What would you like to me to do sir?" "Make it clean..." 🎄 Warner Bros has revealed a fun new Christmas-themed trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another movie which is sweeping up many awards left & right and earning tons of acclaim. They're re-releasing OBAA in 70mm IMAX this weekend for another quick one-week-run. This trailer is hilarious because they play up the "Christmas Adventurers Club" aspect and turn it into a Christmas movie release. At this point, I would not be surprised if OBAA goes on to win Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor at the Oscars next year - it has the full momentum now and totally deserves it. This exciting new PTA action thriller movie is about a father trying to find his daughter on the run (rewatch the first official trailer). When their evil nemesis resurfaces after 16 years, a band of ex-revolutionaries reunite again to rescue the daughter of one of their own. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, plus Regina Hall, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, Benicio del Toro as "Sensei", Shayna McHayle, & Chase Infiniti as his daughter. Still one of my favorite movies of 2025 and I feel like I need to watch it a third time in theaters. Catch it up on the big screen while you can. // Continue Reading ›

Trailer #2 for Cherien Dabis' 'All That's Left Of You' Palestine Movie
"I'm the owner of this land. This is my orange grove." Watermelon Pictures has debuted a second official trailer for All That's Left Of You from filmmaker Cherien Dabis, telling a touching multi-generational story of a Palestinian family living in the West Bank. It's Jordan's Oscar submission this year and will be playing in more theaters starting in January. This premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (where I saw it) and also played at the Karlovy Vary, Telluride, Zurich, Hamptons Film Festivals. In the Occupied West Bank of the 1980s, a Palestinian teenager is swept into a protest that changes the course of his family’s life. Reeling from its aftermath, his mother, Hanan, shares the story that led them to that fateful moment. Spanning seven decades, this epic drama traces the hopes & heartaches of one uprooted family, revealing not only the scars of displacement, but the unbreakable spirit of survival. All That's Left Of You stars Cherien Dabis, Saleh Bakri, Mohammad Bakri, Adam Bakri, Maria Zreik, and Hayat Abu Samra. I'm a big supporter of this film - I wrote a great review from Sundance and now this quote from my review is in this trailer. I am honored & proud to support this film, I hope it gets the recognition it deserves. // Continue Reading ›

Netflix's Live-Action 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' - Season 2 Teaser
Netflix's Live-Action 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' - Season 2 Teaser
"There is a secret life beneath us... we're all connected through the earth." Netflix has revealed their first look teaser trailer for the next season in their live-action take on this animated classic - Avatar: The Last Airbender. The first season kicked off in 2024, re-introducing Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko, but it wasn't the best take on this story and didn't end up with good reviews. But they went off and made the next season anyway! Because there's more to come - especially with fan-favorite character Toph finally showing up in Season 2 and joining them on their adventures. In this next new season of the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix, the Gaang has noticeably grown up since Season 1. After a bittersweet victory saving the Northern Water Tribe from the invading Fire Nation, Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawentiio), and Sokka (Ian Ousley) regroup and set off on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King to aid in their battle against fearsome Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). The full cast also features Miya Cech as Toph, Dallas Liu, Elizabeth Yu, Ty Lee, Maria Zhang, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee. This is a much more exciting first look teaser than anything from the first season - I hope they've made some improvements. Check it out. // Continue Reading ›
