4 the first of I've written was a self insert W.i.t.c.h because I wanted to be friends with Irma and Taranee 💜

Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson
This book (a debut novel!) really, REALLY pulled my heartstrings.

The writing style/prose is incredibly beautiful; I loved the storyline.
The pain and fear (young) POC, especially men, experience due to systematic racism and oppression is heartbreakingly portrayed.
