Friends and friends of friends, feel free to follow me.

For folk I don't know (or with really obscure profile names), drop me a line explaining who you are, and/or why you'd like to follow me.

Who knows, I might follow you back.

When I got back to the UK, I immediately ordered a Kindle, and I have mostly bought eBooks since. I still buy cookery books in print.

Then in 2011, I took an extended trip to the US West Coast (I live in the UK). So I would have something to read, without weighing me down, I installed the Kindle app on my phone, and bought a couple of ebooks.

On the trip, I bought more books. Even on my small phone I found it easy to read.

There was a time when I not only bought and read paperbacks, I religiously stored them for a time I might want to reread. The walls of my flat were lined with paperbacks.

The idea of digital was alien to me.

We had chemicals circulating last night and first thing, and a flush when the plumber arrived today.

He used a kind of rubber tipped percussion thing on the two radiators. By golly, they are both hot, hot, hot!

It's like a new central heating system!

Finishing up this morning. Two *old*, long radiators in the front bay, both upstairs and down, have always been not quite as hot as the rest of the system.

The lounge had a second radiator, at the back; but the front "spare" bedroom has always been about 2 degrees cooler than my own room.

Anyway, he has been a hero. I've been "in the cold" for 5 days; basically heating whatever room I was in at the time with an electric fire.

Today the new boiler was fitted, and the whole house is warm again. It's cosy and lovely.

And I'd forgotten that when I briefly got involved with my blog in Spring, I managed to set it up to post notifications with links here.

If you see anything of interest, feel free to comment over on the blog, or here, either is good for me.

Unfortunately 4 people were arrested regarding the Windsor Castle projection. Charges seem ridiculous - "malicious communications" - and will probably be dropped when Air Force One is back in the skies.

I have to say, this is very disappointing behaviour from the police/security services.

That's what I was unclear about.

Regarding the party specific figures, is that based on the opinion of people voting for that party (as you seem to think), or is it based on *everyone's* opinion of politicians from that party.

The second interpretation makes more sense of the data.

A slight difference. That guy died after being nominated, they just didn't notice. The Croydon candidate was nominated some 6 months after her death.
