I had a classmate (now actually a good friend) who was out when he was a student 20+ years ago, but that definitely wasn’t the norm. And I’m sure he experienced some things.
On a positive note, that was more recently my first gay wedding to attend.

Gotcha, I took a few of those (obviously) but the intro class is the one he taught and probably the one you took. Mesopotamia, Egypt, etc. into I believe early pre-Renaissance.

Good friend of mine’s younger brother up in the panhandle blew himself up making meth (luckily survived and now does outreach).

100% agree in soccer (and I’m a formerly licensed ref).
If a player is clearly taking advantage of his position, call it.
If he gained an advantage because he timed a run well or reacted faster than the defender, I don’t care.

In a couple years you can start introducing how lots of other films have adapted it as a metaphor/framework.
