Irish fiddle, electric motorcycles, and existential dread. Also cats
The main character is initially presented basically as a sociopath, incapable of seeing other people as thinking, feeling beings. The three people who show up to his funeral call him an asshole. And he entirely turns around within two days because someone was sort of nice to him

So of course the Dem establishment is doing everything they can to stop him

Wonder what evidence Mamdani brought to the meeting

That eagle hunts in my back yard sometimes and I'm unreasonably pleased about that

There was a bald eagle circling over the protest in downtown York PA.

Ok, "Hi I'm not fucking dead, I'm Dad" was a good one.

They're losing for something they think is more important that they don't want people to know about

It definitely has good parts and I'm still reading it because I feel like at some point things are going to start getting tied up and I want to see what the big picture looks like. It's just kind of a slog getting there

It's not a good sign that I'm looking to see how much of the audiobook I have to go

The mashup I didn't know I needed. Sister Michael rolling her eyes at Pennywise

Absolutely thought the camera was going to pan over to show "release the Epstein files" spelled out in leftover oatmeal.

The Democratic campaign made a decision not to keep hitting Trump on Protect 2025 because it was "negative", same reason they never picked up the organic "we're not going back"

Sticking it to the libs

There's a lot more explicit world building in this one and the thing is, I liked the way the first book kind of let you figure out the world as you went along

Starting out the main character appears to be in massive, massive denial regarding events of the first book. But I've been getting enough Gene Wolfe vibes that I wonder if there's going to be time travel shenanigans at some point
