Also an issue for roadworks. This is a very small, local example where the footway has been closed with no sensible alternative. There should therefore be decking across the grass (now mud) or a protected walkway in the road.

Time to campaign for improved public transport and active travel links to @nationaltrust.org.uk sites? Could support young people's employment as well as enjoyment, and provide a critical mass for bus routes in rural areas and urban hinterlands
