And we mustn't forget that we have some fossils (very few) where the coloration or traces of it are still preserved, so we even have a little evidence in this regard

I assume that herbivores of modest or medium size would have some degree of camouflage depending on where they lived, as is the case with many animals today. Strange structures and subtle colors, as well as contrasting colors, which blur the silhouette while also serving as a means of recognition

A couple of renders to show experiments with hair made using curves in Blender. I was very used to the particle system and couldn't quite get the hang of this, but guys, it looks like this has a huge number of options.
PS: It's a WIP, maybe the final result will look like the second image.

Rhabdodon is an animal that is very abundant in fragmentary fossils, but we have little idea of its overall appearance. However, it was possibly a relatively large “primitive” ornithopod capable of alternating between bipedal and quadrupedal locomotion

It is also a relatively slow animal, so it relies on the strength of the herd for defense. Even without the herd, its 5 m length makes any carnivore think twice before attacking an adult specimen

A herd of Rhabdodon moves through the forest in its search for food. It is a fairly generalist herbivore that does not hesitate to feed on almost any kind of low vegetation. Its relatively large size requires a higher consumption, which makes it less selective than its smaller thin-snouted relatives

Night falls in a forest at the end of the Jurassic, and a group of Eousdryosaurus leave their daytime shelter to begin their period of activity. Small and defenseless, this ornithopod has acquired nocturnal habits, where, sheltered by the darkness, its large eyes allow it to monitor its surroundings

This is the illustration for Gideonmantellia, the small basal ornithopod found in Teruel. It was a bit of a hassle to integrate them into the environment, and I didn't put too much thought into making the chicks. Not having close-ups has its advantages: you can ignore the details a little.

A female Gideonmantellia pauses for a moment to watch over her young. She is an attentive mother, and although the chicks are capable of feeding and fending for themselves, during the early stages of their growth they will be accompanied and watched over by their parents

And after some color corrections (oversaturated greens, which can happen when viewing on a monitor and then on other devices), a more definitive version of this little Mesozoic gazelle!

This to honor the work that John Bindon did in 1996 to illustrate Orodromeus (shown in image 2), a relative of Hypsilophodon, but it is also a perfect way to illustrate how our perception of these dinosaurs has changed over the last 30 years

It's funny how when you add some fur to these little animals, they automatically become a curious mix between a bird going through a rough patch and a fentanyl-addicted raccoon.

Here I bring you the recreation of Eousdryosaurus, a small Portuguese dryosaurid, quite similar in principle to Dryosaurus, which has served as a model for the proportions (we only know its hind legs) and an addition of filamentous protofeathers.

I've been changing the texture of this little guy to make him look a little better, I hope you like it!
PS: I am still fascinated by the bauplan of these animals, it is incredible that they existed.

We have described about twenty species of sauropods in the Iberian Peninsula; it's one of the most abundant dinosaur groups here. One of the latest additions to the list is Garumbatitan, a huge somphospondyl that may have grown to over 20 m in length

Giving these tiny ornithopods a complete covering of protofeathers is proving to be quite a surprise, as they are strangely similar to a cross between birds and small mammals.

Gideonmantellia, although it looks like a strange chicken here, is one of the most basal ornithopods known. A strange and little-known animal whose remains have been discovered in Spain. I hope you like the reconstruction!

And this you see here is the result. I hope you like it; making it was intense. It’s a model full of edges, spikes, and tricky corners, but it was a lot of fun to create — it’s always good to set yourself challenges!

I admit that the main reason for doing it has been the wonderful reconstruction we’ve seen these past few days, and to see if I could create something at least somewhat similar with my own means and in a more or less quick way
