I came across this bootie pattern because I wanted something I could knit on two needles (so I could use my knitting belt) and in a DK weight yarn.

I am absolutely in love with how cute these are. Pictures do not do them justice.

I did this on lighter fabric than called for, so I changed the lettering to black. I also added a couple of half stitches to the "G" to make my brain happy.

A small detail that I appreciate in this Cthulhu cross stitch pattern is that his pentagram is stitched in DMC color 666. It's the little things.

I've been working my way through "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die." Today's album was John Prine, a country record from 1971.

My favorite song was "Your Flag Decal Won’t Get You Into Heaven Anymore." Still relevant, 55 years later.

One of the fun things about cross stitch is that I'll be working away, focused on the stitches I'm currently working on, when suddenly I step back and realize, "oh! That weird little ovary shape I just did is a sheep's head!"

This morning's project was making this jelly roll race quilt. It was a small roll (only 20 strips) so now it's off to my mom (and her fabric stash) for enbiggening and then quilting.

I've been using iHerb for years to get my (non-autism curing 🙄) supplements. I just cancelled my subscription.

I had a craving to hand knit something, so I've been working on this baby sweater. Unfortunately, the yarn is driving me crazy because it keeps breaking.

I'm persevering, but it's dangerously close to going into a timeout.

this poem got a lot of flak when it was written because people have no reading comprehension but i've been thinking about it a lot again (by @vinayrk.bsky.social unless i'm mistaken)

I'll need to pick up more shifts. Twenty people died in Rafah this morning and every major news outlet is stretching the limits of passive voice to suggest whole families may have leaped up through the air at missiles that otherwise had the right of way. I just got a notification that my student loan payments are starting up again and my phone isn't charged. My cousin got COVID for a fourth time and can no longer work or walk or even feed himself. The person across from me on the L train seems to fashion themself a punk rock revolutionary, but they're not wearing a face mask, and that's the kind of cognitive dissonance that makes me want to steal batteries. Fascists keep winning primaries for both parties, and I think I gained a few pounds. The CDC just announced there are no more speed limits on highways, and I think this Ativan is finally hitting. The NYPD farmer's market only sells bad apples, have you heard that one? Listen it's warm today, too warm for March. But I don't have time to think through the implications because there's laundry to do and a genocide to stop.

My deaf dog doesn't hear the doorbell anymore, so I will wake her up to answer the door with me. Sales people are less pushy when my 40lb dog is barking at them.

The solar panel door to door salespeople have gotten so aggressive and so obnoxious (lying that they work for the power company, refusing to leave the porch, etc) that V has declared war on them and ordered a very colorful super soaker for the next one who doesn't understand "no thanks"
