One of these days when the snowy hills blend in with the clouds.

I just can't help feeling like the Guardian is a bit of a Hotdog Guy whenever they publish something like this.

'but... why is there only *one* person petting me now?'

Spring cherry blossom gets a lot of attention, but autumn cherry leaves are glorious too.

You have a point. Would it be appropriate to pause here to make fun of Wes Streeting's hair?

Something sobering about that "this article is more than 17 years old", right?

Look at it!

I really like my dog's paws.

Have you tried the Uplift feed? That's something, at least.

Here's a video of my dog doing a zombie stretch, in case you enjoy that sort of thing.

Another pretty sunset yesterday.

Please rub belly (not pictured).
November 10, 2025 at 2:49 PM
...and here's the sunset through a zoom lens.

Here are the pictures of yesterday's sunrise-mist from the big camera.

Just the sheer volume of leaves really is something.

Here's the ground under that same sycamore, after a little more rain and wind.

Pretty amazing light in Edinburgh just after sunrise this morning.

Lol, did a whole book fair event and totally forgot to mention anywhere that I have a chapter in a book that is obviously for sale here

Sycamores are incredibly productive trees. Not just the volume of leaves they produce (this one has only shed about half its messes, and already covered an area larger than it is wide) but also its plentiful helicopter seeds, which rapidly root and shoot up - they're a major weed in areas like this!

The emptiness of this shop feels like a very on-the-nose metaphor.
November 7, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Kifl chills.
November 6, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Oh, this is even better: if I go into the app, it's going to cost me £43.49 plus tax.

What???
November 6, 2025 at 4:18 PM
I would seriously consider paying £36 for this course, but not after clicking on an 'enroll for free' button. 😐

This year's Edinburgh Radical Book Fair has started!

On Saturday at 4pm, I'm chairing 'Divergent: Weird pride, unruliness & outsider wisdom' with @cjdebarra.bsky.social and @acaciathorns.bsky.social (frank r. jagoe can't attend in person, unfortunately).

Clouds after sunrise, at 1 minute per second.

The constant creation of clouds in a particular region of space is especially striking in this one. It looks like it's centered on the church spire, but that's *probably* a meaningless coincidence.
