While this may sound good, in reality this could be said about mounts - and its clear that the shop mounts have tons more work put into them on every level, compared to the 3764th recolor of a skin on a old mount-rig you can earn in game. So this means very little for the underlying problem.

Considering what they gutted from Alpha, it was a huge disappointment. My guess is, they wanted to make it more elaborate but ran out of time. So they just chalked it up to a loss and cut it down to the atrocity we have today.
