And I reckon the last line of code I ever wrote was amending a line of HTML in 2006, and that was the first thing I’d done in years.

Even so…

Wow! I think Kraftwerk played the Ritz around that time, too.

I’m very envious! That must have been amazing.

Was it possibly this gig ⬇️

OK! They were a cracking live band during that period, and it’s a real shame their first live album wasn’t until 1987.
I think one of their best gigs ever was in Sydney on the ‘New Gold Dream’ tour, 12/10/1982. Cracking version of ‘Room’ to close. I’ll send you that first.

I've got a few (bootleg) live albums from that period.
I'll send you a couple if you're interested?

There's certainly some of that in the DNA, particularly how they were playing live around 1980/81.

Although I would credit Jim Kerr with a bit more dignity :-)

Ha! Thanks very much. It was probably the best gig we ever played, so I'm delighted to have that as a souvenir.

Yeah, it really is.

We were so lucky: I had a mate who worked in an electrical store who had borrowed a video camera, and the guy on the desk recorded the sound.

Twenty years later, the chap on guitar had developed the skills to work with the sound and video, and thus the gig made it to YouTube!

Haha! I think that's the most flattering thing anyone has ever said about that performance :-)

Good times.

We saw her at Green Man and it was a hell of a show. I must admit I haven’t heard ‘Euro County’ (yet!).
