Countrystride's Cumbrian Christmas Cracker at the Theatre by the Lake, was indeed a cracker, two nights running. Dr Sue Allen, Alan Cleaver and foodie John Crouch, with musicans Carloyn Francis and Mike Willoughby performing traditional seasonal songs.

Recorded a podcast this afternoon with Lizzie Fisher, principal of Higham Hall on the life of Kurt Schwitter who died in 1948. We ended at Merz Barn adjacent the Langdale Estate having followed his favourite walk from Ambleside. His avant-garde multimedia art had a huge impact in his time.
