I can cross my fingers and hope for better tomorrow for americans.

Sadly, from my european view, the Felon is only the face of problem.
The real problem is american culture built on being successful, powerful, famous and/or rich.
Basically, americans have to learn that not being the best is option for living, as well.
However, this is just my european opinion.

I would say that it's fifty - fifty for still believing in US - Europe relantionship.
Mainly european politicians have still hope about saving this relationship.
Anyway, people around me (who were pro-US like me) already wrote USA off. (I can see it on internet as well.)
