This was probably the biggest climate demonstration in Ireland since 2019-2020!

A huge Green Party turnout at the National Climate March today to call on the government to stop the U-turns and get serious about climate action, nature restoration and ending fossil fuels.

We've transformed our city in many ways in the last five years. This street used to be full of cars. Now there's music, laughter, food, people sitting down. Life slows down a little bit on Parliament Street.

In summary: it's great!

Dublin City Council has approved funding for the redevelopment of Dalymount Park. Planning permission was approved last year. A contractor will be appointed next year and construction will begin at the end of the League of Ireland season in late 2026.

Every far-right riot and protest that was tolerated, every racist dog whistle from public reps, every bit of hate and misinformation allowed to spread by social media companies, all led to this moment in Drogheda last night where someone felt emboldened enough to try to burn children alive.

Good news today that Luas Finglas has been approved by An Coimisiún Pleanála. That's now five big rail projects approved in the last year and no clarity over funding and timelines.

The National Development Plan published in July contained no details.

Great news about Moyross train station today. New stations are also being designed for Cabra and Kylemore Road. But we still have no certainty over what projects are getting funding in the National Development Plan and when.

If Jim Gavin gets 12.5% or more, Fianna Fáil gets €250,000 in expenses refunded. Bear that in mind if you're voting for Jim Gavin as a joke.

Diwali symbolises triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair. In a time of increasing hatred and division at home and around the world, the message of Diwali is more important than ever.

MetroLink is NOT expected to cost more than €20bn. It's currently expected to cost around €9bn. The €20bn figure has been debunked several times and for a national newspaper to publish it as if it's fact is incredibly damaging.

Facts matter.

Bike bunkers! One of my most common requests in inner city areas. Well, they're finally here. The contract has been signed and they're taking requests now. I'm off to apply for one!

Two shared waste compactor bins have finally been installed as part of a pilot. It's a collaboration between Dublin City Council and the waste collection companies in the area. No more stepping over plastic bags of waste ripped open by seagulls!

The planning inspector for MetroLink taking economist Colm McCarthy to school. McCarthy has been objecting to rail investment in Dublin since the late 1970s.

Once again, MetroLink is not just about the airport.

Yesss!! MetroLink has been approved by An Coimisiún Pleanála after three years in the planning process. 🥳 Still awaiting details and if any modifications were made. More later today.

What does a toilet, a car park, housing construction and the relocation of a crypt have in common? All climate action apparently.

Proper budgeting should be the basics of tackling any major problem. How can we hope to tackle climate action if we don't even know how much we're spending to tackle it?

The public had ample opportunity to elect enough right-wing Oireachtas members in the last year to nominate a right-wing presidential candidate. They chose not to. They elected a handful of right-wing TDs and only enough councillors to elect a handful of right-wing senators.

25 Dublin streets will turn into play streets tomorrow afternoon to mark the 25th annual World Car-Free Day.

Unlike other European cities, Dublin rarely does anything big for Car-Free Day but tomorrow will be the biggest ever Car-Free Day Dublin has ever done.
