Failure is not the end, it's merely the beginning. I set out to challenge myself by doing value studies daily for a week. Then my life got busy. It's disappointing when your plans don't work out, but it doesn't mean I'll stop. I can still get the 7 days done, they just won't be consecutive

The biggest mistake we make is thinking our energy works like a battery. You can't simply drain it and then crash and do nothing waiting for it to recover. You need to generate energy. Go on a walk, draw, do a hobby. Activities are far more energizing than doomscrolling

Feeling demotivated is normal. I sure feel like giving up my efforts, but the mere thought of my life staying the same is eating me up inside. I need to keep going. Nobody else will save me

To be a better artist, observe.
It is one thing to learn concepts, and it is another entirely to understand them intuitively. So observe the world around you and get a deeper understanding of how to convey the world on a canvas

Separation between light and shadow comes naturally by now. The problem I face is adding variety to it. Light generally has fall-off to intensity. Halftones aren't in shadow and the value depends on intensity of light. The shadows get brighter depending on bounce light. Balancing values is tough

Today I decided to do some value studies from observation. It was both easier and more challenging that I thought.
I am testing how far I can get by focusing on studies like this for a week or two. I plan to post the progress later as a comparison. Consider these benchmarks

[WIP] ADDED THE MUSIC! Which,, kind of changed the timing,,, BUT!! I made their tails emphasize how confident Ivy is and how Freckle gradually gets into the rhythm as he focuses on Ivy!!
