Skyrim modding is a sport by itself. Spending days making all hundreds of mods run, only to get distracted and never actually play.

My cat can't operate the PC but he loves watching me or other play games. His favourites so far are Like A Dragon and Minecraft.

When having a flare up, for me personally 'I hope you feel better soon' sounds okay. I don't feel it implies expecting a full regeneration but just 'better days'.
But generally maybe just 'I am sorry to hear that' or 'Tell me if I can help you in any way' (but only if the offer is honest).

Gosh and the continuing 'get well soon' wishes from people I have told over and over that... I won't.
