its kind of funny this being news on BBC, im pretty sure there was never a single generation without a massive number of people that get really into retro games, even less surprising when most modern games suck and we have the worst and most boring console generation ever

Mine too, it was fucking awesome, a bunch of cosplayers, people cheering, screaming, jumping on their seats, watched with my friend who is also really into fnaf and it was awesome, absolute cinema

again,not as game accurate enough, we're just going back and forth here there's no point, art is subjective and the concept of that is good or bad varies, what i know is that the fnaf movie was everything i wanted it to be and even more, as someone who enjoys movies and love games, it was perfect

what i love about the fnaf movies is that they're unapologetic in what they're supposed to be, everything is there, even the game mechanics, and its exactly what me and everybody on the theater was there to see, im pretty sure if it was a "better movie" it would be a worse fnaf movie

its been ages so its hard to find, but reviews like this, the humans are not there for any Sonic fans, they're there to "make a better movie" for the people who dont know Sonic, but those same things makes it a worse Sonic movie
yeah, and again, thats wrong, a game adaptation is a completely different can of worms, what makes a good movie and a good game movie are two very different things, you can't just pretend there was never a game and judge it on a vacuum, if it perfectly represents the game, its a good game movie

and from the ones that i watched at least, they're not as game accurate as both fnaf movies, many plot changes and adaptations, Sonic is the best example, its good but the humans were not necessary, Shadow and other plot points were toned down, the designs, does that made it a better Sonic movie? no

they for years changed stuff from games to make it appealing to more people, changing plots, characters, designs. i love the Sonic movies for example but they made Shadow's plot way lighter to appeal to kids, this movie did exact what the fandom wanted to see and was expecting, it achieved its goal

again thats missing the point, you do a fantastic chocolate cake for the people who loves chocolate, the people who hate chocolate and cake who are there to eat everything else all the time will say its shit, its not just a movie,its adapting something, as an adaptation of that something its perfect

if it was a 10/10 for the critics but the fans hated it, the movie failed completely and it will either be remembered as a joke on the fandom or forgotten completely

thats the wrong way to look at it tho, every aspect of it delivers as it should, the critics just dont know what to do with a video game movie cause they dont know video game, ignoring what makes it especial for the target audience is completely missing the point, theres a whole new layer there

not even the game references i thought was bad like the Air Wing, it dont stop the movie, its cool to see on a big screen, next frame its gone, i could talk way more about the highs and lows of the Sonic trilogy or DK on the mario movie, but as a mario movie it self, to me it did it justice

im not too deep into Mario,played all the games and think they're okay,for me it felt,looked and sounded like Mario,i dont see that as fan service, that was just how the world works, when he gets like the cat power up for example i dont think "Mario 3d World" its a thing that exists on that universe

its good for the audience it needs to be good, thats it, it dont need to be anything more then that, if the people who supported this franchise for 10 years are happy, thats a good video game movie, we dont need every thing to appeal to the most amount of people on earth as possible

Also once again just like the Mario movie, world building and literally showing the things from the game as they are is not fan service, Its just how the world is, "gasp the characters that is supposed to be there is doing what it should be doing?! Fan service!!"

This movie was pretty much perfect, the only way it could be better is If the "gameplay" section was longer and the movie too, i could be on this universe forever, designs 1 to 1 with the game and perfection on the details, they never looked so beautiful, it was absolute cinema
