I do relate more to Adora in general, and I could make excuses for SOME of her mistakes, but they all involve giving her grace for never being taught how to have relationships. If you're gonna give one of them that grace, you have to give it to the other too, and that's where some people get stuck

I think you can relate deeply to one of them personally and emotionally and still recognize that they both made mistakes, though. Fics that are extremely one sided are often flatter in their characterization in general than fics where the writer has a favorite but still sees the complexity

Hearing people's takes on the Catradora rift is a really fascinating look into their psyches. Not in a mean voyeuristic way, but in a "hell yeah, we're trauma twins!" way 😂

I'm one of the weirdos that doesn't mind Malort, but I do appreciate the "what the fuck, why not?" energy behind all these alternatives. I don't know if I'd like Salty Lady, but I'd give it a chance just to find out. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Jeppson's has made novelty Malort flavors in the past so we know they're capable of variety, which makes this even more of a comically intentional choice on their part 😂

She's not just a boundary breaker, she was introduced as a blatant threat, a babysitter hand picked by Shadow Weaver to keep her in line. AND she was still in a position of authority over Catra when she began pushing those boundaries. Scorpia probably didn't realize all of that, but Catra sure did.

Yeahhhhh, I give some leeway on all the former Horde kids' social skills because there's no way to learn healthy relationships there, BUT that isn't a free pass. I don't dislike Scorpia as a character but I think Catra shows remarkable restraint and patience with her.

I encountered one recently that didn't even give prompts, just asked an open ended question about what you needed until it gave up on interpreting the answer and connected you to a human operator. Absolute nightmare business.
