Okay, @kagi.com, we need to talk. What should I do to start being your browser's advocate? I've been using it since this morning, and I don't see a reason to switch back to my previous choice 😀

Omg, The Orion Browser has Notes in Markdown. That's fantastic cute feature, thanks @kagi.com

Sounds like I have to give a try...

Looking back: I've been out of work for almost three weeks now. It's starting to feel like a long vacation 😀

What I can say seeing a list with tons of cookies sharing data? Only f-words...

Switched from #Firefox to another browser and have jumped back in 10 minutes.

Read the State of Vue.js 2025 report. Yes, there are some pain points — migration, ecosystem maturity, standards. But the direction feels inspiring: Vapor Mode, better DX, growing community activity. If you work with Vue or Nuxt, this report is worth reading. stateofvue.framer.website

Autumn is like during training. A little bit lonely, a bit cold, but still beautiful.

Technical degradation doesn’t happen overnight.

It starts quietly:
— releases slow down
— bugs pile up
— simple changes take weeks

By the time leadership notices, the team is already stuck firefighting, roadmap blurred, senior engineers ready to leave.

Seeing lots of "Your application was viewed" notifications from LinkedIn. Hoping for just as many "next steps"! 😀

While I'm looking for work, I'll also try to focus on syn-co.me. It started as a simple weekend project, but now I'm already discussing the possibility of integrating a visual dashboard into Confluence for a couple of companies.

Well, I got laid off, just like many of my colleagues. It's certainly very unfortunate, but what can you do. Time to move forward.

New day, new page, new sketch 😀

I have many different markers and highlighters, but they all have the same annoying problem — they smudge ink and bleed through paper heavily. I thought about this for a long time and finally found what I think is a very elegant solution.

Drawn yesterday on the corner of my notebook. Sometimes i like to make some small sketches in my daily planner. Just imagine: you turn a blank page and see something that has been drawing a month ago.

Awesome gold autumn is here. Love this time.

Oh, I remember of how we were doing rounded tabs with PNG images many-many years ago. Now it should be pretty much easy... Right? But it does not. It looks great, but the complexity is too much frontendmasters.com/blog/modern-...
Modern CSS Round-Out Tabs
We can use `shape()` to carve away the edges of an element to look like a folder tab. By hand.

Added a meeting time finder to syn-co.me. The algorithm analyzes each participant's comfort zones and suggests the most fair options. Not just "when everyone's awake", but when the time is actually convenient for everyone. Or at least not terrible for anyone.

Wrote my first post on Reddit. To be honest, I expected more reactions. But since 4 hours I am still seeing zero comments. Hah, even if I got roasted comments, it will be better than silents 😀 Anyway, it's great experience. So let's move forward.

My philosophy after 20yrs building software: most tools are bloated. They track you, require accounts, have features nobody asked for.

Shipped a small but important accessibility update to syn-co.me: the timeline now uses visual patterns (diagonal stripes) in addition to colors to differentiate time periods. This means it's now fully readable in grayscale/black & white mode.

Added 12-hours format for my american team mates

Productive day on syn-co.me! Added settings dropdown with theme/time switchers, interactive timeline hover effects, comprehensive E2E tests with Playwright, and CI/CD via GitHub Actions. 10 commits, ~500+ lines added. Building better time visualization tools!

Okay, guess I have to stop working for today. Made lots of tiny changes and improvements and wrote down tons of ideas.

Best part about syn-co.me — share your team's timeline with one link.

No accounts, no invites, no "please sign up first." Just share the URL and everyone sees the same timeline.

Here's how it looks for a small distributed team: syn-co.me?members=Alex...
