@dabric I think cohost was the only one that did it right; you got a NSFW toggle _and_ a content warning button which made it easier to parse for both people and computers! except that it was a bit of a closed off platform with an undocumented api so lmao on that last part

@dabric usually if you can't click the link on your end you should just be able to dump the URL in the search bar. it's a really confusing flow unfortunately

@rifter yeah, bluesky is the only one that actually sort of succeeded and they're still relatively tiny in the grand scheme of things (and the fediverse is a single crumb at this point)

@rifter I think the other hangup for me now that I remember is that it got Waaaaay too kinky on there. which honestly I support people being into whatever but it got to the point where it was a good chunk of what was on my feed and it made me personally feel uncomfortable so I left

@nu yeah I think the idea was good, it just fell flat as it only really attracted a certain few demographics and alienated everyone else in pursuit of very lofty ideals. kind of like the fediverse actually
