Thus, the Chozo warrior's formative discipline is to gain hadár through mindful inner cultivation of the will, with breathing and meditation. And to accept one's helplessness in the face of habél - this final and undefeatable enemy - is the Chozo warrior's greatest challenge.

Yet, at the end of our being, we will give that energy up to the universe. While 'hádar is everything' is the internal truth, the external truth is equal and opposite: 'Everything is habél.'

This is what is meant by, 'Hadár is everything.' Without this first discipline, true power is impossible, and you are only a plaything of the forces around you, enslaved to your uncontrolled fears, insecurities, and paranoias. Gain hadár first through mindfulness - then, all things become possible.

The first step in a Chozo warrior's training is the cultivation of mindfulness - gentle meditation and breathing exercises meant for securing an inner sense of calm and control. This is the foundation for building Chozo warriorship: to bring one's inner stellar self into the domain of hadár.

However, living things are not born in possession of hadár. Instead, the basic energy within is by default is under the domain of habél, which causes us to act only in reaction to the universe, rather than purely of our own will.

Thus, all things fundamentally possess a basic energy. In the case of living things, this is their life energy, and it is this life energy that makes hadár possible.

Conversely, habél is something surrounding being and pressing in on it, like the jaws of a cosmic worm.

In Mawkin art, hadár is associated with a sun motif. This is because, in Mawkin cosmology, the star is the most primordial kind of being, and all other beings are some variation of a star. This is why all things radiate light (in the case of living things, this can be seen using the Thermal Visor).

The first manifestation of the breathing-out is hadár. Equal and opposite to this is the first manifestation of the breathing-in, which is habél.

Hadár means something like the force by which we act on the universe, while habél means something like the force by which the universe acts on us.

According to the Mawkin, the world of our experiences and actions emerges from a fundamental duality. This duality is not moral ('good' vs. 'evil'), or ontological ('being' vs. 'nothingness'); it is kinesthetic. It consists of the 'breathing-out' and the 'breathing-in.'

The Mawkin alphabet alternates between down-pointing and up-pointing cases. These alternations preserve the music of the ancient language, when the letters had once stood for alternating stress patterns, and they contain a fundamental duality that lies at the heart of the Mawkin way of life.
