I agree the Senate should be reformed and every citizen should have a vote. The majority are currently elected by county councillors (60) only 6 by university graduates, and 11 are appointed by the Taoiseach. Most people don't realise their local clles have this power.

Mé Féin independents with ties to pubs, TDs who own pubs, all happy with the status quo...

Even the most reprehensible of TDs has been elected democratically by citizens in their constituencies. I don't like many of the decisions my fellow citizens have made regarding their TDs over the years, but it's up to progressives to out-organise them on the ground. #Irishpolitics #speirgorm
