On the other hand I agree that the relationships themselves are more important than the naming, and this paper is amazing in many other ways. But citing highly relevant work is foundational to the process of science

I don't think that the argument that it was already under review holds very well, because it should be easy to change a name and add a ref until late in the process. In this case the paper was accepted nearly 3 months after the publication of Promethea, so this would have been possible imo

I however wonder why a new supergroup was erected (Disparia) when the existing supergroup Promethea precisely describes this grouping? Promethea was published here: www.cell.com/iscience/ful...
