I was thinking the same thing about music. Every technological advance always somehow leads to great weird new music, but AI? In three years it’s just slop and cheap soundalikes. It’s like there’s something distinctively uncreative about it.

Jeg var ret glad for den, da den først kom til Danmark. Den har noget virkelig flot kameraarbejde, og Matsoukas' musikvideoæstetik skinner flot igennem. Visse scener svæver ligesom en god trapsang nogengange gør det :)

And, crucially, it only worked because Denmark is a multiparty system. For every right-wing worker they got, they alienated an old voter, and actually lost a few votes in 2019 compared to 2015. Those voters went to other left wing parties, though, leading to an overall landslide victory.

The thing that worked for the Social Democrats 2015-2019 was moving right on immigration and left on welfare at the same time. It was less accommodating the far right, as it was outflanking them on nativism, by outbidding them on what they'd do for the white working class.

I don’t know, Triumph is at least not four hours long. I‘ve rarely been as bored as I was when I watched Birth.

The ‘good even if abhorrent’ films are the Stalinist ones imo. But we also need to talk about how awful the politics of something like Dovzhenko’s ‘Earth’ is.
