No 10s handling of the "leadership debate" is the best example. It keeps exploding in their faces and instead of walking away, they go back and try cutting a different wire to defuse it.

Ideally, step on fewer rakes. But certainly, once you step on one, take the hit and move on. Don't keep resetting the rake and trying to avoid it coming up and smacking you in the face again and again!

There is a disconnect between the mainly offline public and the younger, very online, leaders of many organisations (on the right and left) that is going to become increasingly obvious. The doctors' strike and in particular the BMA's handling of it will be a good case study.
