Parish Priest at Saint Mary of the Angels, Chicago. Maker of sandwiches. Confidante. Occasional pro bono lawyer. He, his, him.
If you watch Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, the opening credits have faux Latin phrases that sound like what Harry shouts. The last pic before he appears is always something relevant to the past week.

I predict that this Sunday, he'll show a lady he once interviewed: Chimpus Maximus.

I forgot to post about the holiday yesterday.

AARRRRRRRRRRgh.

There was a time in my adolescence when Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was my favorite movie.

He was someone special. Thanks, Bob.

When Jeffrey Dahmer was killed, I was in civilian clothes and somebody brought it up cheerfully. I told them I try not to celebrate the death of anyone.

Charlie Kirk said a lot of things, and I didn't agree with many of them. That has nothing to do with our gun violence epidemic.

Live for peace.

I can't find Mister McAnally anywhere, and we just have a few hours to get him to the spot.

I think I'll be spending the remainder of the evening in meditation and prayer, hoping that the recent events in the Middle East don't escalate any further.

I'm kind of against warfare and civilian casualties.

A happy Juneteenth to all African Americans. I recognize that being Caucasian, I will never truly understand what you have been through, either individually or collectively. I can only offer my support, love, understanding, and that I hope we learn from our past mistakes and cruelty. Bless you all.

To restate it again, I'm a celibate heterosexual cisgender man, and my pronouns are he, his, and him. Both I and my Lord love you all, however you identify, and whomever you love.

In this time of political uncertainty, world conflicts, starvation, and complete turmoil around the world, I have one important question to ask. It's what's keeping me up at night.

After seeing the new trailer for James Gunn's Superman, will Nathan Fillion use a Baltimore accent as Guy Gardner?

A friend of mine got this on Facebook from a fellow Catholic. My own perspective is that your identity is something that only you can define. You can change your name, wear whatever you want, and act like you please. As long as you are acting with love, I personally cannot judge.

I feel obliged to say here, as I did on Twitter, that I'm not here to promote my faith or discuss religion. If you want to do that, there are many other places to explore spirituality online. I also won't be political, more than recognizing current events.

I also wish a Happy Mother's Day to all.

I wouldn't have used this phrasing, but that might be the attorney in me.

Bless you, Leo XIV, and all of our fellow Chicagoans.

I bless my fellow Chicago native and new Pope, Leo XIV. This was an unexpected joy to behold, and I look forward to a new chapter in the Church.

It was a lot of fun seeing Father Guido Sarducci last night on Colbert, talking about the Conclave.

It's sad, but Pope Francis has joined his predecessors. A hole is left in our hearts today at the passing of a kind and humble man. Not perfect, not without mistakes, not without me personally disagreeing with certain things.

I will remember him well.

I'm going to watch Real Genius today, in honor of Val Kilmer. I liked a lot of his work, and I am sorry that his voice was lost from medical complications. He was beloved by fans and family alike, and I will miss him.

I'm sure I have never said this before, but if you ever wanted to see Jon Stewart discuss perineal health with Paul Rudd, then you should check out Monday's Daily Show.

To paraphrase one L. McCoy, MD, "I'm a priest, not a doctor!"

I am friends with the artist of Popeye, who also draws the NSFW webcomic Something Positive.

If you are in the area, please say hi to him. Randy will be grateful, as will I.

My heart and prayers go out to the iconic, wondrous Dolly Parton on the passing of her husband of 60 years, Carl. To me, she exemplifies Christ's teachings of generosity, humility, and compassion. Be comforted with his memory, Dolly, and know that we all love you and feel your loss.

I would respectfully note that this is only in support of following the tenets of your Faith. It does not mention anything about a political party, movement, idea, or public figure.

I try to preach simple kindness and acceptance, and so did my Lord.

A few words regarding tomorrow's inauguration.

This account will hopefully never be political. I didn't let it be that way on X and I don't want it here either. So I'll just put it simply, taking no sides.

I pray for prosperity and peace, and a lasting cease fire in Gaza with Israel and Hamas.

I take great pleasure in @gailsimone.bsky.social noticing my support. The "bad actor" and I had a short conversation, but it seems they've deleted their comments. A pity, I merely hoped they'd learn to approach such situations with more care and tact.

Yes, the thermos and stuffie are both mine.
I'm glad you were able to remove a toxic person from your social media. You're an amazing creator, and nobody deserves malicious treatment through working in the same media or on projects that bear the name of an abuser.

And Snoopy is the BOMB. Don't let your cups be tainted by something bad.

For many years, I've enjoyed the works of Neil Gaiman. Reading the Vulture article was beyond disturbing. I can find it hard sometimes to separate the creations from the artist, when these accusations occur.

You can feel bad about the reputed victims and the actions described. They're horrific.
