They extended some middling temporary half measures to people that were already here that still left them in exploitable legal limbo. As is clearly evidenced by the fact that the current administration is currently going around using armed vigilantes to deport hundreds of them despite their being here for decades with no problems. The only way to actually solve the problem is to completely remove the distinction between citizens and non-citizens. This courtesy has already been extended to the wealthy who are able to travel wherever they please, start companies wherever they please, and get subsidies and tax breaks from multiple governments. Borders are a violence those people are inflicting upon us all in order to keep their pockets heavy. The entire idea of "unskilled labor" is propaganda designed to devalue labor and lower your wages. Spit those words out of your mouth. They taste like the under parts of the rich and they're making your paychecks lower. The problems that arise surrounding immigration are explicit results of the regulatory environment preventing those people from working legal jobs, starting their own businesses, and accessing social services. The border and the entire notion of immigration possibly being illegal causes poverty, including yours. The border existing causes crime, including against you. The border existing causes desperation in your neighborhoods, violence in your streets, and an army of people willing to take lower pay because they are afraid of being sent back to the countries that have been destroyed by the same men now exploiting them. You guys kept accusing the Democrats of wanting to open the borders when it's clear they are NEVER going to do that. They are profiting off it just as much as the Republicans.

Before anyone else recommends their favorite text editor go count the top level menus on your finger, and if you have to take your other hand off the keyboard... Stop.

I was in fact using the minimalist text editor for the minimalism.

Pumpkin not only has room for me and my daughter, but a garage I can set a workshop up in, AND a vehicle I can drive for the times we can't get by on the PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION!

We technically have local busses here, but they are so bad I have been forced to bike everywhere I want to go.

I'm currently camped in the backyard of 2 aggressive bigoted boomers who already kicked my daughter out, and the place she had to flee to isn't healthy or safe.

Once I'm there I can un-pack all my tools and get back to work livestreaming my creative projects to raise funds for the co-op!

Because of my own particular pile of persistent problems the only safe option for transport is the train.

The plan, such as it is, is to ship all my stuff (already largely packed) freight before I go, then prep the space for my 16 year old trans daughter to join us soon after.

Didn't accomplish a ton today, but I did manage to shave at least.

I got tired of the disposable cartridges costing an arm and a leg and always popping off the handle, so I switched to a cheap old style safety razor.

Still getting used to it, but I like it so far.
