Agree - dx at 46 got the official full testing at 51 and I’m shockingly impaired - the only two things not affected are my intelligence and ability to gauge how people are reacting to me (not necessarily why) and those two things got me by but now I can’t mask. I’m old and weird and pissed about it

So far two male psychiatrists have told me in our first meeting that my autism doesn’t affect ME much and the last one I said… you mean it’s not affecting YOU much

He did this after several practitioners diagnosed me without the hours long assessment. That just confirmed it.

I had one tell me after a ten minute evaluation he didn’t think I was autistic and if I was, it didn’t affect me much. When I pushed back he asked me to explain the idiom “Rome wasn’t built in a day” - that was his entire reasoning - I can explain idioms. I was later fully tested - level 2

Nobody else knew about this not even my support case manager. It says it on my app but it’s small print & click through to find out. So many people will be blindsided in 2026 when that drops.

Nobody’s talking about it but a lot of us on MAPP (Medicaid purchase plan) in WI depend on additional healthy food allowance. I saw fine print on app that CMS has stopped this for 2026. I got $184/mo for food, OTC medication, first aid & medical aids in addition to $24 SNAP

I’m wondering if that story is in one of the biographies by his niece, Mary Trump — I’ve read her latest, which goes into his life less but she describes him as so difficult that his parents didn’t like him or bother to discipline him. He was a neighborhood bully who tattled if anyone pushed back.
