If you're going to embrace being Autistic, and you want to share the Autistic experience, you should be willing to be open about the whole exoerience, good and bad. This gives a broader, clearer picture.
But it's your choice, always. If you aren't comfortable, don't feel forced to do anything.

My son John had a heart transplant at 7 months old. He also has physical and mental disabilities. His ability to work is extremely limited, to the point we weren't sure he'd be able to work. He won't be able to live on his own, so we live together. I'm proud of the man he's becoming.

I gave April, my son's mom, my word that I would always take care of our kids. I've spent the 3 years since her death doing my best.
The one thing we haven't been able to do is move. We srill live in the aoartment where she died.
I started a GoFundMe to help pay to move into a nice place I found.

My son's mom always told me that my pride got in the way of asking for help, even in the most dire times. I have the opportunity to move both of us into a better apartment, but I need help. Please take a moment to read our story, and I would be deeply appreciative of any help. gofund.me/2c02de4aa

Hey smartwatch users, please take heed of this warning about your data: “...the current administration's spread of misinformation around autism erasure will harm people who are autistic instead of helping them.” @ejwillingham.bsky.social in the latest TPGA newsletter:

"Profound autism" label is profoundly useless
Clustering autistic people under an arbitrary, demeaning label erases their individual humanity and needs.

What I love most about being neurodivergent is the sense of community. We're all different, we all lresent differently, but we're (for the most part) welcoming to everyone. I want to thank you all for welcoming and accepting me.

We should celebrate each others' wins more. Life doesn't have to be a competition.

I don't know if I've said this here before, but I don't see neurodivergence as a superpower. Superpowered people don't need naps after a trip to the grocery store.

New research shows that, yet again, self-diagnosed autistic adults aren't giving themselves labels for clicks and giggles, but rather because they KNOW they're autistic AF but can't access a formal diagnosis. From @avanicole23.bsky.social et al:

As the business of Far Afield Media moves toward neurodivergent consulting, advocacy, and speaking, I've made the decision to close farafieldmedia.com as a photography sales and portfolio page. It will return, reflecting the change in business.
Eventually, photography sales will return in some form.
